The Elkhart County Miracle Become the “White Rumps” on “One Buck Night” June 6th Home Opener
Season Begins on Road May 27th
ELKHART, INDIANA—The Elkhart County Miracle released its full schedule today, which includes their home opener for the team that has been renamed the “White Rumps” (for one night).
Inspiration for renaming the team the “White Rumps” for the game against the Griffith Generals comes from a Native American reference used to describe the distinctive light fur in the Elk’s rear region. Some historians have associated the name Elkhart with a downtown island that resembles the animal’s heart.
During the 6pm June 6th home game, team members will wear commemorative “White Rumps” jerseys in honoring the mighty-antlered Elk that night, and hot dogs, popcorn, and admission are just One Buck each.
The Elkhart County Miracle begins its second year in the Northern League on the road against the Southland Vikings in Hammond on May 27. The team’s full schedule and individual home game tickets (including “One Buck Night”) can be found at elkhartcountymiracle.com beginning Monday, April 1.
The Miracle play their home games beginning this season at the Elkhart Athletic Complex inside American Park just off Waterfall Drive in Elkhart. The site is adjacent to the former Elkhart Central High School campus.
