Elkhart County Miracle Baseball Season on Pause
Northern League loses 15-year stadium lease in Whiting; action leaves Miracle and other league teams without a place to play away games
(Elkhart, IN)—The Elkhart County Miracle is not likely going to be playing baseball this summer because of its league’s terminated long-time stadium deal in Whiting.
“The Northern League notified us a short time ago that their stadium lease arrangement with the city of Whiting has not been renewed despite 15 years of playing there”, said Miracle Founder Craig Wallin.
Without that facility, teams in the league are without a place to play many of its road games.
“That news caused us to quickly look into other league options, but no suitable arrangements could be found on such a short notice”.
The Miracle franchise began play with the independent Northern League in 2023, and won a minor league championship in the NL in 2024. Last season the team once again made it to post-season play, but lost in the championship game.
Wallin says the Miracle is hopeful to return to play next year at the very latest, and thanks everyone who has supported the club over the past three seasons. “We will be updating our website at elkhartcountymiracle.com as plans develop for the 2027 season”, he added.
