June 1 – Panthers vs Elkhart County Miracle
Nappanee – The Miracle continued their hot start improving to 2-0 with a win against the Indiana Panthers Thursday night. They won the game 6-5.
Dilan Pinero was electric on the mound. He struck out 11 through six innings of work and gave the Miracle plenty of energy early.
A Bryce Lesher double in the first marked the first scoring of the game. The Miracle were able to put up two runs in the first inning and added another in the third.
The Panthers did not go down easy. They scored runs in the 4th, 5th, and 7th to knot things up at five.
In the bottom of the 7th, Evan Laws doubled and later scored on a single from Dylan Rost. That run would prove to be the difference.
Evan Laws and Curtis Ball both contributed three-hit nights for the Miracle. Laws reached base every at-bat and had one RBI.
“We got some timely hitting and had a couple of players with big games,” Craig Wallin, president and founder of the Miracle, said. “We battled and it was a resilient effort.”
The Miracle improved to 2-0 and will continue their five-game homestand tomorrow against the Southland Vikings. The first pitch is slated for 7:00 PM EST.
