
Elkhart County Miracle Get Quality Start from Former Reds Minor Leaguer
Right Handed Pitcher Juan Polo Strikes Out Six in Hitless Debut Against Oilmen
(Elkhart, IN)–The Elkhart County Miracle began a Wednesday/Friday homestand Wednesday night with a 9-4 win over the Northwest Indiana Oilmen at the Elkhart Athletic Complex. 24-year-old Colombian right hander Juan Polo was one walk away from being perfect in his five-innings of work in his first Elkhart County start.
Polo, who originally signed as a teenager with the Kansas City Royals, was credited with the win. Tommy Garcia collected three hits and three RBIs while Bryce Lesher had a three-run homerun.
Tomorrow, the Miracle host another home game with a showdown against the Hammond Vikings at 6pm on Family Friday. Kids 12 and under are free, and are invited to take the field with the team. A portion of the game’s proceeds go to help benefit the Make a Wish Foundation and Texas Roadhouse Hot Dogs are only one dollar.
