Elkhart County Earns Top Northern League Baseball Post Season Awards
(Elkhart, IN)—For the second consecutive season, the Northern League announced its top player is a member of the Elkhart County Miracle.
Catcher Juan Pinuelus has been named the league’s 2024 Most Valuable Player. Last season, the award went to Miracle shortstop Dawson Willis.
Pinuelus, a native of Nogales, Mexico, put up impressive numbers throughout the season, leading the league in several key offensive categories.
“Juan’s consistent excellence and ability to contribute to multiple facets of the game make him a truly deserving recipient of this year’s MVP award,” said Northern League President Don Popravak.
“His leadership behind the plate and offensive prowess were instrumental in the Elkhart County Miracle’s success this season.”
In addition to Pinuelas, pitcher Pablo Ruiz and infielder Bryce Lesher were named to the all-league team, and Wilson Valera earned Manager of the Year after guiding the club to the Northern League championship and a 26-11 season.
Miracle team president and founder Craig Wallin says this year’s league awards are especially satisfying. “Each and every one of our guys contributed to our success on the field, and the individual awards are well deserved.”
