Our Mascot – Scooter
Our mascot was named Scooter after our team motor-coach owner Daryl “Scooter” Kauffman. Daryl’s dream was to be part of a baseball team, and was one of the very early enthusiastic supporters of the Elkhart County Miracle vision.
Daryl not only owned Crossroad Tours, but also owned D-Bar-D Trucking in Shipshewana. In February of 2020, Daryl was laid to rest after a four-year battle with cancer.
Daryl loved talking about Setra Buses and being a truck driver. He loved “scooting” down the road and trucking it up. If he was not driving trucks or working on his buses, he would be sharing his love for the open road with anyone who would listen.
When the opportunity came up for us to honor Daryl, there was no better name for our mascot than Scooter. Thank you, Scooter, for your love of the game and for being our first-ever Elkhart County Miracle fan!
